Define the Line and Grooop hosted a 3-part panel series with health experts, HR professionals, and organizational leaders who are paving the way in the mental health sector. During this session, they focused on how to prioritize your own mental health as a professional, how to identify when you need to take a pause, and strategies for taking care of yourself.

Bios:

Chavonne Hodges is an NYC-based fitness entrepreneur and community organizer with a passion for social impact and fitness. In 2016, she launched GrillzandGranola, a fitness company that curates and creates fitness experiences for women of color, starting with their signature TrapAerobics class. Chavonne, named by the Drum as “50 Under 30 Creative Leaders of Tomorrow” now works as a full-time Wellness entrepreneur.

Rachel Wakeford is an ASW Therapist (#95353) who enjoys utilizing psychodynamic theory, which allows for the client to gain a deeper sense of understanding of what is happening in their unconscious. Having received her Master of Social Work degree from East Carolina University, Rachel has utilized her education and experience in an array of populations such as: grief/bereavement, end of life, various mental health diagnoses, and trauma.

Dr. Larry Sandberg, MD is a Psychiatry Specialist in New York, NY and has over 38 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from New York State U, College of Medicine - Upstate medical school in 1983. He is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst interested in the clinical challenges of combining psychotherapy/psychoanalysis with appropriate pharmacotherapy. He also has a research interest in the psychodynamic treatment of panic disorder.

Nina Barnett is the CEO and Founder of Ninz inc. operating under the DBA, grooop. Nina realized safety is something that should be worked towards, rather than defend against. Nina is a University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill 2019 graduate with a degree in Physics and Acting with a Mathematics minor. She is a proud member of the Female Founder Collective, a Vital Voices Leadership Incubator Fellow, Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneur Nominee and Finalist, and most recently one of FLIK’s 21 Womxn Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2021. She is also a stand-up comedian in New York City performing at notable venues such as Gotham Comedy Club, Greenwich Village Comedy Club, Stand Up NY, and more.
